orthoxylene prices dropped by $45-$50/mt week-on-week to $1,120-$1,160/mt CFR
China on Nov. 4. This was due to lower domestic prices and increased OX
production at some plants. According to market sources, Sinopec is
increasing OX production at certain plants. However, others stated that OX
production could decrease in the future given the bearish outlook for
paraxylene. This could also affect feedstock-Isomer_MX. OX production
in China was confirmed by a Chinese producer. OX prices were lower than usual
week-on-week at $982-$1000/mt FOB Korea. OX prices sold on FOB Korea basis were
also dropping with OX prices hovering around $1,080-$1,120/mt in the second
half of November negotiations.Asian
