Asian Orthoxylene: Market weak as demand reduces / Offers heard slightly lower week over week / Asian demand stutters amid weak downstreams

The Asian orthoxylene price lower by $10/mt week over week at $855/mt FOB Korea, and by $5/mt at $860/mt CFR China and $875/mt CFR Southeast Asia on July 17. The laycan for the markers was Aug. 7-27. While there had been a small number of trades heard in the market, both this week and last week, there were still some offers for cargo in the Asian market. An end-July loading cargo was heard traded around $850/mt FOB Taiwan last week, while another FOB China August loading cargo was heard traded around $890/mt FOB China. Given current market conditions, the FOB China cargo seemed to have traded rather high, a source said.
