Orth xylene was valued at $5-6/mt, up $5-6/mt from the previous week, at $1,235-,1255/mt
FOB Korea, and $1,205-1,235/mt CFR Southeast Asia May 6, due to rising
isomer-grade mixed xylene prices. Producers were under
pressure as Isomer MX rose $48-52/mt to $1,135-1,165/mt FBO Korea in the same
time frame. The CFR China OX marker was
unchanged at $1,160-1,180/mt, despite low OX demand in China and stable
domestic prices for OX, phthalic acid, and naphthalene. One buy idea was made as low as $1.080-1.120/mt CFR China. Sources close to PA producers indicated that India may not
have much room to export OX once several new PA plant production begins between
