crude oil market is almost flat day-to-day. The July Brent crude futures rose $0.50/b to $75.45/b on May
16. It had risen almost $1/b during the morning session but lost the gains in
the afternoon. Sources said that PX demand
is beginning to wane, as the expected demand for US gasoline blendpool has not
yet materialized. Market traders are also feeling pessimistic about prospects
of exporting aromatics such as isomer-MX and toluene for US gasoline mixing in
May, June, and July. Sources said that the
market in Asia is also starting to change from its earlier bullishness. A China-based source stated that the demand revival in China
is not as strong as Chinese producers had expected, particularly for the
