- On the day, October RBOB drops 18.58 cents/gal- MTBE touches six month low

Prices in the US MTBE markets fell due to a
decline in the RBOB gasoline price. Two
days before September, the NYMEX October RBOB gasoline futures had already
fallen to 253.03c/gal on August 30, suggesting a weaker outlook. The US Gulf Coast gasoline market has moved to the season
for higher Reid Vapour Pressure (11.5 for most gasoline grades). This has made it difficult for buyers to purchase octane
boosters. Instead, the main focus was on the search for RVP components, which
intensified competition among blendstocks. The Market on Close evaluation process did not see any
offers or bids. FOB US Gulf Coast MTBE
fell 18.58 to 308.03 Cents/gal on August 30, making it the lowest level in six
months.
