soda prices were unchanged week-over-week on April 26 at $795 - $805/mt FOB USG.
This was based upon stable pricing indicators. Sources claimed that both domestic and international market
participants were still digesting Olin’s April 20 declarations of force
majeure. According to a customer letter,
the force majeure applied to Olin's US operations in caustic soda and chlorine
as well as ethylene dichloride, ethylene dichloride, and other products. Sources said that the range of export caustic soda "is
in a pause" as the market absorbs the information. Olin stated that it was experiencing continuing disruptions
in its US system, including significant unplanned production and power cuts at
its facilities in Plaquemine (La.)...
