Oil 92 RON higher by 0.37%, crude oil 1.76% / Nil MTBE Nov derivatives settle on CME

Asian MTBE rose $3/mt on Dec. 16 to $780/mt FOB Singapore, on the backs of rebounding gasoline prices and oil markets. The gasoline 92 RON rose 0.37% to $85.12/b, while the front-month ICE Brent crude oil futures was higher by 1.76% at $74.57/b at 4:30pm Singapore time (0830 GMT). A bullish US inventory report, and positive sentiment helped the energy market gain. The MTBE spot trading market remained subdued. CME data revealed that there was no monthly settlement of MTBE derivatives contracts on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for November, continuing a trading lull. CME data also showed that there was no open interest in November. Due to concerns about omicron variants, trading volumes in MTBE futures has been at a halt for the past two months. The Market on Close assessment process was quieter in November due...
