Asian Nylon Chain: Prices mixed amid firmer upstream / Nylon- 6 Demand to Increase / Nylon 66 demand is still subdued

The Chinese nylon-6 markets were rangebound during the week ending April 2. Firmer feedstock markets helped to keep prices from falling further. The week saw a slight increase in prices for most market participants, boosted by higher domestic caprolactam costs. A producer stated that "our offer has increased slightly after the bottoming out last week as benzene prices and caprolactam have rebounded." One trader reported that prices had increased marginally in the past two days. A Chinese producer reported that downstream operating rates have returned to their pre-holiday level and could rise even further. This would support the market further.
