Asian nylon-6 prices slide further in the week ended July 2, as sluggish demand and weaker upstream markets dragged. Offer levels from producers were mostly lower during the week, with sluggish sales despite lower prices, sources said. "Sales are challenging due to poor downstream business, and lowering prices is ineffective because the real issue is a lack of demand," a local trader said. Reflecting challenging market conditions, inventory levels are reportedly increasing, coupled with expectations of new nylon-6 capacity coming online in the second half of 2025, dampening market sentiment. "Foreign buyers are aware of the increased supply, and with no improvement in demand, there is little enthusiasm for current prices," a producer source said.
