Asian Nylon Chain: Prices decline amid subdued demand / Nylon-6 at $21/mt, but CPLs are showing support / Nylon-66 down $32/mt, near breakeven levels

The nylon-6 market in China continued to be challenged, as a result of sluggish supply and a lackluster demand. FOB China nylon-6 prices were flat on the 26th of March, but $21/mt lower week-over-week for both semi-dull and bright grades. This was in line with tradeable indications at $1369-$1,443/mt. The full-dull grades were also unchanged from one day to the next, but down $21/mt week over week, at $1.455/mt, on March 26. This was in line with tradable indicators heard between $1,419 and $1,493/mt. A buyer in China said that prices dropped because of high inventories at factories and low demand. The buyer said that planned turnarounds at caprolactam factories could tighten the supply of upstream feedstocks, which would result in some price support for nylon-6. A Chinese producer...
