Prices of Chinese nylon-6 fell further during the week ending April 30 due to persistently sluggish demands and increased inventory pressure, as the optimism about a de-escalation of trade tensions faded. As trade uncertainty slowed buying and demand, market participants struggled with high inventory levels. A China-based producer stated that "Inventory Pressure persists while downstream [demand] is weak." He added that new capacity coming online will add to the market's already high levels of supply. A producer in Northeast Asia also shared the same view. "Market inventory has increased... If too much supply is available, the market could crash." According to a source in the nylon-6 industry, the operating rate has decreased to 73.98% due to the current unfavorable market conditions. FOB China...
