- No deals heard done Aug. 18- Low Rhine water levels continue to put pressure
on storage terminals

August 18 saw no spot European methanol
trading, with players indicating that stable pricing was the norm. A source stated that it
was relatively quiet today, with everyone keeping an eye on low water levels. Another source claimed that some players had exceeded their
storage capacity due to logistical problems along the Rhine river. Some were
looking to sell volumes. The water levels
at the Kaub chokepoint were 37 cm on Aug. 18, an increase of 35 cm in August. The market was experiencing logistical difficulties and a
slight decrease in demand, which led to a slightly lower level of demand.
