Spot activity in Europe's
MTBE market was very limited on April 21. There was no trading activity during
the Market on Close process of Commodity Insights, and there were no
fundamental changes. The Eurobob May Swap premium
was $130-140/mt FOB AR, unchanged from April 20, MTBE prices increased to $1,200-1210/mt FOA due to gains in
front-month Eurobob gasoline, which was valued at $1,065-1,075/mt FOB ARA. This
is an increase of $19.50/mt. The blend
economics of high-octane components like MTBE or ETBE were improving due to a
wider spread between front-month gasoline and front-month Naphtha at $142-145/mt
on April 21. This was up from $130-135/April 20 and higher than the $110-115/mt
