Due to weaker buying and selling appetites,
the rise in Asian paraxylene fell. CFR
Unv1/China dropped $6/mt to $1,089.33/mt. C+F Japan naphtha fell $9.75/mt the
same day, at $686/mt on Aug. 25. Trade
liquidity was low throughout the session and sentiment declined during the
Market on Close process. One bid for October was withdrawn, while one for
November was withdrawn due to the fall in crude oil and naphtha. Mercuria, on the seller's side, registered a $1,096/mt offer
for Asia-origin November cargo and reduced it to $1,074/mt at the market close. Although the daily drop-in paraxylene prices have been
noticeable, some Chinese sources expect tightening domestic supply to continue
