The Northwest European naphtha market was
more robust than crude oil Nov. 21 which saw a drop in prices to begin the week. Due to a bearish gasoline blend market and low
demand from petrochemicals, naphtha demand was still poor. According
to a market source, "The demand is not very good." ExxonMobil,
the owner of Fawley's refinery in south England, stated Nov. 21 that operations
there are not being affected by the strike. The Asia
market did not receive any new tenders from end users Nov. 21. This was due to
market participants being hesitant to act after recent sentiment shifts in the
paper market. Also, steam crackers are limited because of low olefin production
