Due to a rebound in
demand, the premiums for European MX over gasoline rose five weeks to their
highest level on the week of May 6. The MX M1 premium over
gasoline was $99.25/mt on May 6 - an increase of $2/mt and $34.25/mt since April
29. Market on Close's bidding interest
drove the daily gain. The widening
gasoline/naphtha spread and low stocks for octane boost prior to spreading
widening were the main reasons for the sudden rise in demand. The average front-month spread between gasoline/naphtha
swaps was $249.19/mt this Week, an increase of $190.30/mt on last week. A producer stated that there has been an increase in
