The spot European MTBE price dropped on
June 16 due to a weaker downstream energy complex despite the demand. European MTBE was valued
at $1,880.25-1,920.50/mt FOB AR, down $17 50-23.50/mt
on the day despite losses in the upstream industry. However, bidding activity was
seen for 1,000mt at $1880-1920/mt during the Market on Close assessment process. European MTBE premium over gasoline hit a new high of $594. 50-620.25/mt, up to $1. 75-2.50/mt
for the day. On June 16, at 491, the
spread between front-month gasoline and front-month naphtha was $24-30/mt. 25-30/mt. 25-30/mt. In a quiet spot trading environment, ETBE's premium over
MTBE remained unchanged at $320-340/mt FOB Ar, while actual prices dropped to $
