Due to increased selling interest in an
upstream facility with lower prices, the spot European MTBE price outright fell
further February 14. Spot outright MTBE price was
$1,094.75-1,044/mt FOB ARA February 14, a $11 decrease from the previous day
and below the outstanding offer made during the Market on Close assessment
process. The MTBE premium fell by $2.75/mt, to $280.75/mt
FOA ARA February 14, while the front-month gasoline exchange dropped to $814-825/mt
FOA ARA. MTBE prices in Asia rose $7.45/mt, to $940.89/mt
FOB Singapore February 14, while Southeast Asia demand remained stable for
March cargoes. Sources raised concerns about rising demand in coming weeks as
summer gasoline blending season approaches. ETBE prices
fell in line with the downtrend in related markets....
