The European MTBE spot price fell on August
22 due to selling pressure and a weak gasoline compound. European MTBE spot prices
fell by $49.50-54.50/mt to $1,177.75-1,200.50/mt FOB ARA on Aug. 22, below the
outstanding offer made during the Market on Close assessment process. A deal was also made during MOC for mid-window loading at
$1,178-1,200/mt. The MTBE premium over the
EBOB FOB M1 fell $13.75-18.50/mt to $269.25-280.50/mt on Aug. 22. MTBE prices in Asia dropped $21.90-26.50/mt, to $1,034.87-1,050.50/mt
FOB Singapore, Aug. 22, due to a flattening forward curve of backwardation in a
weaker energy system. ETBE prices fell to
$1,208-1,240/mt FOB Ar, following the fall in related markets. The premium over
MTBE remained stable at $30.25-35.50/mt despite no fundamental changes in the
