Spot European MTBE outright prices rose on
Sept. 14, despite a strong gasoline complex and no selling interest. The European MTBE price
outright rose $9-10/mt despite strong selling interest to be assessed at
$1.011-2.500/mt FOB ARA. In a strong crude
oil and gasoline environment, the assessment was below the market on close
offer at $1,012-1,030/mt. The premium MTBE
received over the October EBOB swap was down $9-10/mt to $200.25-220.50/mt FOB
ARA on September 14. Asia saw MTBE prices
fall to $932-950/mt FOB Singapore on September 14, a decline of $28-34/mt,
following a downward trend in upstream prices. The uptrend in related markets led to ETBE prices rising to
$1,042-1,060/mt FOB Ar on Sept. 14. In
