European spot prices for methyl tertiary
ether fell on July 21 due to lower trading activity upstream. The European MTBE price outright was down $7.25-8.50/mt
to $1,520-1,550/mt FOB ARA. This was due to the most competitive trade during
the MOC process, which was normalized for crude oil price movements between the
trade and market close. However, MTBE's premium over EBOB
FOBAR M1 swap jumped from $39.75-44.50/mt up to $514-530/mt. Due to the
low Rhine water levels, it is difficult for barges to pick products up from
