The European MTBE spot price rose on Sept.
12 in response to higher upstream energy prices. This was despite marketing
seeing a selling appetite. Higher
gasoline prices led to a rise in European MTBE spot prices. This was below the
outstanding offer made during the Market on Close assessment process on
September 12. The price will be assessed at $1.011-2.500/mt FOB ARA. This is
$13.50-18.50/mt higher than Sept. 9. The
premium MTBE received over the October EBOB swap dropped by $15.25-20.5/mt to
$209-225/mt on September 12, due to selling interest during the MOC process and
a higher front-month gasoline swap. A
