narrows to $8.25-9.50/mt





Due to weakening upstream energy prices,
spot European MTBE prices declined Nov. 21. European MTBE prices dropped by $29/mt, to
$1,021.75/mt FOB ARA. This was in line with the decline in gasoline prices. The premium
for the front-month gasoline swap was unchanged at $300.75-315.85/mt FOB AR as
of Nov. 18. Despite falling crude oil prices, MTBE prices in
Asia fell $12/mt, to $953/mt FOB Singapore. The
downtrend in ICE Brent futures was driven by weak demand, surging COVID-19 case
numbers, and lockdowns within China. They were valued at $82.76/b, a decrease
of $4.50/b over the previous session. ETBE prices
fell to $1,052-1,098/mt FOBAR Nov. 21, in line with similar markets. Despite no
market fundamental changes, the premium over MTBE remained steady at $30.25-35.50/mt
