MTBE remained flat at $1,246-1,286/mt FOB Singapore, May 6. This was despite
mixed direction in energy markets, with 92 RON slowing down and crude extending
its gains. The day's 92 RON fell 0.01% to $138.12/b. The front-month ICE Brent crude oil futures rose 1.19% to
$138.12/b at 4:30pm Singapore time (0830 GMT). This was due to a slight
production increase by OPEC, its allies, and the EU's sanctions against Russia,
which raised concerns about tight supply. According
to a source, South Korean LG Chemical has lowered its MTBE plant run rates to
about 80% since April. Daesan is home to a
