Ether market was $36.53-40.50/mt lower at $1,016.47-1,040.50/mt on Aug. 15,
tracking crude oil and gasoline prices. The October Brent crude oil futures contract
fell to $96.17-102.50/b from $99.88-104.50/b the previous session. Meanwhile,
the 92RON gasoline marker dropped $2.55-3.50/b and was $107.64-120.50/b. The session
saw a 92 RON crack increase to 11.47 from 10.31. This led to a narrower
percentage of MTBE at 1.118, as opposed to 1.131. Participants
in the market said that there is renewed demand for blendstocks in Singapore
and Malaysia, including toluene, MTBE, and MTBE. However, MTBE prices are still
too high in Asia for buyers, despite an Aug. 15 drop in MTBE. According
