Asian MTBE fell $47/mt to $923/mt on Nov.
24, but there were no offers or bids during the Market on Close evaluation
process. According
to market sources, the MTBE factor was lowered from 1.225 to 1.225 on November
24, as there were no trade negotiations. A
trader said that the domestic Chinese gasoline market was weaker this week due
to an increase in COVID-19-related cases. This also caused a decrease in MTBE
demand. Another trader said that the
Chinese MTBE price dropped by 3% to 5% during the week, to Yuan 7,120-7,500/mt. According to a Chinese producer, FOB China was reduced by $20-25/mt
