MTBE increased $66.50/mt week-on-week at $881/mt over the seven days to January
13. This was supported by strong moves in crude oil futures, gasoline, and
other commodities. The MTBE factor was unchanged at 1.019, as no offers or
bids were received during Jan. 13's Market on Close evaluation
process. According to a trader in the market, China's domestic gasoline
market experienced an increase in demand and liquidity over the course of the
week after the country relaxed its strict COVID-19 policy. The week ended
on a more tranquil note with many market participants taking a break due to the
