Asian MTB: Prices rise after firm gasoline■ Vitol resells Sept cargo to Trafigura■ FOB China has heardAfter the rise in gasoline markets, Asian
MTBE rose $7-9/mt to $1053-1100/mt on Aug. 12. According to an Asian
trader, demand for H2 August cargo in Southeast Asia for MTBE had suddenly
risen. There was also demand cargo coming from Malaysia. He said that although September cargoes from Malaysia were
still in high demand, Malaysian buyers were interested in cargo for H2 Aug. Vitol placed a firm bid on August 12 for 3,000 mt to load
over September 1-Sept. 5, which was increased to $1,056-1,080/mt FOB Straits.
Trafigura traded it at that level. The
price of 92 RON gasoline rose to $110.19-130.25/b on Aug. 12 from $108.86-120.40/b
the day before. The crack at 92 RON was
