July DDP benzene dropped sharply by 37.50c
to 490c/gal on July 12, amid a steep fall in upstream energy, which weighed on the market. There was also bearish sentiment because South Korea continues to
export to the US. The settlement of WTI crude oil
futures at $95.84-100.50/b on July 12 was $8.25, down 7.93%. Benzene,
however, fell by 7.11%. The benzene to-crude ratio was 2.15
on the date, which was just above the historical average of 2 - the annual average
ratio for 2021. The July 12 benzene to crude ratio was 2.13, which
was higher than the July 11 ratio. When the ratio is 2.13, the benzene
