The Asian MMA market declined again in the week to July 9, with prices down $15/mt week over week at $1,190/mt CFR China and Southeast Asia down $15/mt week over week at $1,290/mt CFR Southeast Asia. Offers from China fell to $1,200-$1,220/mt FOB China for July and August loading cargoes, but sources said Asian demand, especially from India, was tough to cater to, especially because of low buying ideas. One source said selling ideas even as low as $1,200/mt FOB China were not workable as Indian buyers were looking for cargoes at $1,220/mt CFR West Coast India.
