In the week leading up to May 21, Asian methylmethacrylate and Polymethylmethacrylate (MMA) markets experienced reduced demand, particularly in India. Meanwhile, several Chinese plants started maintenance. On May 21, Asian MMA prices dropped slightly by $2/mt, to $1270/mt for China, and by $2/mt, to $1368/mt for Southeast Asia. The market was relatively stable compared to the previous week. In the week leading up to May 21, the lowest offer for loadings in June was between $1,280 and $1300/mt, FOB China. However, one source said that it was difficult to find the $1280/mt offer, as most of the offers were around $1300/mt. There was little interest in buying cargo on the Indian market.
