Asian MMA was down $10/mt week over week at $1,215/mt CFR China on July 2, while the Southeast Asia assessment was down $30/mt at $1,330/mt CFR Southeast Asia, also on July 2. A source said that demand in Asia remained slow, and offers from Chinese producers kept eroding from week to week, despite many producers saying each week that they would not lower their offers below a certain margin level. This week, offers for July loading cargoes were heard as low as $1,220/mt FOB China, but a trader said he was not even able to sell the cargo at that level.
