Asian MMA/PMMA: Low demand continues with low sentiment- MMA CFR Southeast Asia down 20/mt- In progress annual re-contract negotiationsMMA CFR China remained the same week as
last week at $1.400/mt on December 21. MMA CFR Southeast Asia was down $20/ mt
to $1,500/mt during the same period Dec. 21. Also, PMMA CFR China remained the
same week as last week at $1.800/mt and PMMA CFR SEA remained the same at
$2,010/mt. A
trader stated that the market demand is at its lowest, while the supply in
Southeast Asia continues to outstrip the demand. According to a market source, annual re-contract
negotiations are ongoing, but market participants face difficulties breaking
even due to higher freight and utility costs. As they couldn't cover marginal costs, manufacturers were
