Asian MMA/PMMA: Fallen amid weak demand- China has a low import interest- PMMA producers consider run cutsAsian methyl methacrylate, CFR China (MMA)
fell $10-15/mt to $1.757-2.500/mt on July 13, amid weakening demand in the region
and in line with the declines in domestic MMA prices. China's domestic MMA prices
dropped from Yuan 125-200/mt down to Yuan 12,375-12,500/ mt or $1,528-1,550/mt
if you consider import-parity. This was due to a decline in the energy sector
and low buying interest. Spot negotiations
in the Asian MMA marketplace slowed down due to slowing demand downstream from
end-users throughout Asia. This has put downward pressure on MMA prices. End-user demand has been slowed by concerns about an
economic recession. Some buyers have stopped stocking in the spot market and
