European methanol prices rise day-on-day Dec. 16, due to increased trading activity in spot market. FOB Rotterdam spot price for methanol rose Eur2 to mt, or Eur369/mt Dec. 16. A buyer stated that "Demand remains very strong", supply has moderated a little, but is not yet very healthy. According to the buyer, demand was expected to continue strong until at least Q1, while manufacturing-related methanol applications were performing very well. On Dec. 16, at least 6,000 mt was traded, nearly double the volume that was traded spot the previous day. Sources say that about 4,000 mt of January deliveries were heard at Eur367/mt or Eur369/mt Dec. 16.
