US Gulf Coast spot propylene levels
declined $66/mt over the week. This was despite minimal market activity and
sluggish sales as upstream propylene monomer levels decreased slightly. US homopolymer injection
grade polypropylene was valued at $1,323-1,345/mt FAS Houston. This is 55 cents
per lb for rail cars. It was based on spot market pricing indications from
early August. Exports have been talking non-workable with current market
dynamics. Based on talk of a 3-cent
premium for homopolymer grades, the co-polymer quality was also down $66 to
$1,389-1,411/mtFAS Houston. This is a 58-cent rail car basis. Additional charges of 5.5 cents per lb are included in the
assessment to cover costs related to packaging and shipping resin...
