The Asian methyl methacrylate market strengthened in China in the week to Sept. 24, amid short-term supply tightness, according to market sources. MMA CFR China rose $20/mt week over week to $1,205/mt, while CFR Southeast Asian prices increased $10/mt week over week to $1,250/mt. Market participants noted supply tightness in the Chinese domestic MMA market during the week, with restocking activity ongoing ahead of the Golden Week holidays in October. Ex-tank prices in East China were in the Yuan 10,100-10,200/ mt range, according to a Chinese supplier, while corresponding FOB China offers rose to $1,250-$1,265/mt. Prices in South China increased Yuan 150-200/mt week over week to Yuan 10,700- 10,900/mt, amid some planned maintenance.
