Asian Methanol Prices: Mixed amid Increased Trading Activity / Chinese buyers facing shortage due to delayed Iranian supply / China's coastal methanol inventories drop by 12.17% WOW / Taiwan fundamentals continue to be bearish due to weak downstream demand

The Asian methanol markets ended the week with a mixed bag amid a frenzy of trading. CFR China methanol was down $1.25/mt from the previous day to $300.25/mt, CFR Taiwan was down $3/mt over the past week to $357.25/mt, and CFR Korea remained stable at $354.75/mt. On March 21, a deal was made for a shipment arriving between April 28 and May 2, while on March 20 a shipment arriving from April 10 to April 15 arrived at $306/mt CFR China, despite the low trading volume earlier in the week. Mixed signals were seen in the market because buyers expected Iranian methanol to arrive in China by April.
