India Methanol : Ex-tank increases amid tight supply and CFR discussions / Ex-tank Kandla prices rise to Rupees 32.75/kg / April buying interest slips amid eased supply / Prompt Supply to Remain Tight until Early April

In a market that is severely backwardated, the Indian methanol industry saw little trading. Buyers remained mostly on the sidelines. In anticipation of an easing in Iranian supply, several importers appeared to be looking for formula-priced cargoes. The market participants thought that Indian prices would correct after April 10, and Iranian supplies were expected to resume full-swing in April. Port inventories were lower than normal, and traders sought to purchase prompt arrivals for a higher price in April. CFR trading was light in the week beginning March 17, as many sources chose to buy formulas as prices began to fall. The price range for arrival cargoes between March 24 and 28 was $320 to $325/mt, while the interest in H2 April was mainly $300/mt. The price for H2 April cargoes...
