week ended May 6 saw little trading activity on the Asian methanol markets.
Many market participants were away for the Hari Raya Puasa and Labour Day
holidays. China's three-day-long Labour Day holiday ended on May 5.
Methanol futures in China rose on the EU proposal to ban Russian oil imports. The domestic methanol price in East China rose to Yuan
90-100/mt, Yuan 2,790-2,950/mt for prompt deliveries or $340-355/mt based on
import-parity on May 5. However, selling indicators were weak and they remained
