European Methanol prices stable amid steady fundamentals and limited trading / Stock levels decline amid increased Rhine water levels and barging capacity / No deal heard on day; 1,000 mt traded in week / Q1 biomethanol bunkering activity increases

The European methanol price at the spot market was unchanged for a second day in a row on May 2 due to stable bid-offer levels and stable fundamentals. The bid-offer ranges for May and Juni were the same day after day, at Eur245-255/mt. As on May 1, no spot transactions were made that day. Only 1,000 mt were heard to be traded in the past week. This is down from the 2,000 mt that was traded the week prior to April 25. Stock levels at a Rotterdam terminal were reported to be 70%, down from 90%-100% during recent weeks.
