US methanol spot market
price continued to fall as market participants reported lower offers on April
28. May spot methanol prices dropped 2 cents to 109c/gal FOB
USAG, an 18-week low. On Dec. 20, 2021,
spot methanol prices had fallen to 106c/gal FOB USAG. Spot methanol prices in June also fell 2 cents, to 111c/gal
FOB USG on Dec. 20, 2021. This maintained the market structure and was subject
to a June methanol offering at 112c/gal FOB ITC. According to a source, the drop occurred because
"prices continue falling globally and April is over." The Southern Chemical Corporation published its North
