to data from China's Customs Statistics Information Center, monoethylene glycol
imports fell 11.7% in July to 570,552 tonnes (mt) in July. Sources said this was due to low polyester demand. However, domestic prices of polypropylene in east China were
supported by a continuing drawdown in domestic PP stocks in the week ending
Sept. 2. Several PP plants in China have
been reported to have delayed their commissioning due to slow buying over

season is starting this month and the price rise could help improve methanol to
