The European spot methanol price remained stable at the end of May 16, despite a largely unchanged market and a limited trading activity. No deals were concluded in the same way as on May 15. At least 6,000 mt of grain was traded during the past week. This is up from 2,000 mt in the week ending May 9. The market activity and prices increased during the week, after hitting a low of Eur228.50/mt for the year to date on May 12. The fundamentals of the market remain unchanged. However, some players attributed this week's increase in activity due to the fact that some participants were selling the material off to clear some tank space. The price of T2 methanol FOB Rotterdam remains unchanged at Eur244/mt.
