India Methanol: Prices stable amid thin trading, mixed outlook / Domestic ex-tank prices rise on weaker rupee / CFR India discussions thin as market awaits clarity / Supply tight amid absence of Iranian cargoes

Spot discussions in the Indian methanol market were thin Dec. 19 as buyers and sellers preferred to wait and see, while some were busy in term discussions with Middle East producers. CFR India methanol at $304.50/metric ton, stable day over day Dec. 19. January arrival spot offers were heard in the range of $310-$315/mt CFR India, while buying interest was mostly below or at $300/mt CFR India. Some unconfirmed trade discussions for an H2 January delivery cargo were heard around $300/mt CFR India.
