Due to continued low demand, US Gulf Coast
spot Methanol prices fell on Dec. 2. spot December methanol was at 86c/gal FOB USG Dec. 2, a 5
cent decrease on the previous week. Sources
say that the US spot methanol market is still in a long position, with little
buying interest due to a weak economic outlook and declining global demand. The company announced late November 29 that Canada's
Methanex had nominated its North American Methanol Contract Price at 173 cents
per gall for December. This is 3 cents less than the previous month. Sources expected a decrease in the nomination, which was
