Higher crude oil prices on
March 9th pushed Asian methanol prices higher. CFR China
methanol was valued at $5-6/mt more day-on-day at $420-440/mt. CFR Southeast
Asia and India were up $18-24/mt respectively over the same period. The May ICE Brent futures were valued at $4.72-5.20/b (or
3.75%) at $130.14-150.20/b on March 9. On
March 9, there was little discussion about import spot cargoes to China.
Notional tradable levels were heard at $415-425/mt CFR China. Yuan 15-20/mt were discussed in east China on March 9, at
Yuan 3,240-3.260/mtex-tank. With firm bids
of $460-475/mt for South Korea and Southeast Asia, and $465-480/mt
