Massive drop in Russian exports in April Arbitrage East-West remains hard to work




Naphtha cargo prices in
Northwest Europe remained flat on April 21 due to the long market and unchanged
demand and supply fundamentals. CIF NWE naphtha freight
prices rose $8-10/mt in April amid uncertainty in the physical marketplace due
to Western sanctions against Russia. Market participants expect a significant
decline in Russian exports to Northwest Europe in the coming months. According to Kpler shipping data, this effect could already
be evident in April with April's exports forecast at 4.05million barrels. This
is a drop of 2.35million from March. The
weak Asian market with low steam cracker operating costs was also weighing on
