Asian isomer-grade mixedxylene rose $5/mt
to 944.50/mt FOB Korea and $969.50/mt CRU Unv1. It was up $12/mt on February 21
at $951.50/mt CRU China. This was due to rising paraxylene and an improving CFR
China demand. The price of PX increased $14/mt per
day to $1.019.50/mt CFRUnv1/China. Ex-tank prices in China's domestic
market-MX were also rising daily. Prices for March were around Yuan
7,460-7470/mt or approximately $934.60/mt based on import parity, an increase
of around $926.50-946.75/mt from the previous day. According to
market sources, buyers were looking for imports at prices as high as $950-970/mt
CFR China. Several market sources indicated that exports to
the USA were impossible at this time due to the arbitrage.
