Asian
paraxylene was down $29.16/mt-$29.25/mt to $1,069.17/mt-$1,080/mt CFR
Taiwan/China on February 9, after taking into account the fall in nearby markets
such as Brent crude oil and pure terephthalic Acid (or PTA) futures on China’s
Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange. ICE Brent futures fell $0.88/b to $90.97/b. March cargoes were still tight in Asia, with at least two
traders stating that they were seeing demand from Asia-origin cargoes for
March, but no additional spot cargo to offer. According to an Asia-based source, March cargoes were still
tight. The demand was more for cargoes from Asia than open-origin material. PTA buyers are looking for additional March cargoes as March
